Per-Client Pricing
A pricing model where the platform charges a fee for each active client a coach manages.
What it actually means
Per-client pricing charges a base monthly tier plus an additional fee for every active client above an included client cap. The economic effect: every new client a coach signs adds incremental cost to the coach's software bill, regardless of what that client pays the coach. At scale (50+ clients), per-client fees can consume 5-15% of a solo coach's top-line revenue.
Distinguishing it from look-alikes
Per-client pricing creates a structural conflict: the platform makes more money as the coach grows, regardless of whether the platform contributed to that growth. Flat-fee unlimited-client pricing (Cadence, custom-built apps) inverts this — platform revenue stays fixed while coach revenue scales with client count.
